I've been asked many times about the situation of women in both my country and my region. Since I do believe that women's status in every part of the world is a matter relevant to both the international community and to many countries, I would like to spend some sentences inside this entry in order to express a bit of my views regarding this issue. Ciento treinta personas inocentes que se prenden fuego a sí mismas en el Tíbet y nadie en la comunidad internacional o en alguna organización internacional se ha pronunciado en torno al tema. La verdad es que como internacionalista lo entiendo pero no lo apruebo en lo absoluto. I decided to write abouty this topic because to start with, I really like themes related to Defence and also to War Studies and also because I had to get involved with concepts related to strategy and war during my research of North Korea. El 22 de noviembre tuve la suerte de haber sido invitada por uno de mis ex profesores del posgrado (Dibyesh Anand) a una mesa en mi alma mater de la maestría con la desafiante pregunta: '¿El Dalai Lama es malo para Occidente?' como título. La verdad es que aparte de haberme dado la grata sorpresa de que también estaría otro de mis ex profesores de la maestría y de las personas por las que me metí en este asunto del Tíbet ya de lleno (Tsering Topgyal)estuvo bastante interesante. Since the scandal derived from Snowden's leaks of important documents after his fleeing from the National Security Agency and also after the NSA itself has been exposed by the whole world (mostly by Chiefs and Heads of State), the international community now faces new challenges that go beyond national security. It now comes to the world's attention that they have to reserve their secrets to themselves, because as the German Chancellor Angela Merkel said, 'Friends are not supposed to spy on each other'. Dentro de la última década, en todos lados se ha hablado de las evaluaciones que hace la Organización de las Naciones Unidas en torno al tema de los derechos humanos, y es que en realidad desde que existen problemas como el de la ocupación ilegal de la franja de Gaza, la Guerra de los Balcanes y la terrible realidad que en este momento vive Siria, las organizaciones internacionales en general se han enfocado en el tema de derechos humanos principalmente porque se han estado violado múltiples estatutos dentro de Convenciones Internacionales (en particular las de Ginebra sobre los presos y la guerra misma). Las Naciones Unidas aboga porque se respeten los derechos humanos y también aboga por la solución pacífica de conflictos sin embargo, estos preceptos no se han estado siguiendo en los últimos años y lamentablemente el costo de esto independientemente de las razones por las cuales no ha intervenido la organización, es que cada día hay más civiles que pagan con su vida el interés ...

Esta entrada es muy especial para mi, comenzando por el hecho de que esta fue la primera vez en mi vida que vi a Su Santidad Dalai Lama en persona. Únicamente sabía de él por medio de las enseñanzas budistas (que como dije anteriormente, yo no soy budista pero en esta parte del mundo lamentablemente es la parte más conocida del Tíbet), y también lo sabía por la divulgación de su filosofía de vida y obviamente por las miles de fotografías y artículos que uno se encuentra en la red. La verdad es que me comencé a acercar a este tema del Tíbet en la parte política gracias a mis profesores del posgrado, uno era de la India y el otro del Tíbet, y este último fue quien nos dio los temas sobre China. Precisamente fue gracias a mi profesor tibetano Tsering Topgyal, que supe qué clase de personas son los tibetanos: totalmente diferentes y con una educación y forma de ver la vida totalmente distintas a los Han.
