Reflexiones internacionalistas

This Summit of the Americas held in Panama City has been different to the rest in many ways. In spite of me not being a specialist in Latin American affairs and/or North America affairs or U.S.-Latin America relations, as a Latin American and a citizen from the U.S. immediate neighbouring country, I decided to write something about what we are witnessing now in the Summit. I hope this entry is informative for my non-Latin American and non-North America readers. Since I studied my Master's degree in the United Kingdom, I witnessed many arguments that were biased and non-congruent in many ways (not to say unrealistic) regarding the situation being held on this side of the world. Japan and Korea have been facing ups and and downs in their interactions since the end of World War II. The role of Japan on this matter, has served as a determinant factor within the context of foreign affairs in Asia, for it affects interests and relations among the most important economies on the continent, namely Japan, Korea and China.  The past is revived almost every year at the moment Korea celebrates its National Liberation Day and whenever Japanese officials visit Yatsukuni Shrine. The way foreign affairs and everything related to them therefore, depend on how each of the parties and their governments interpret and react towards how history has been told. El día de hoy hace 56 años, las tropas del Partido Comunista invadieron el Tíbet y ocuparon su capital, Lhasa, en su intento de hacer a China un sólo país por la fuerza de una forma brutal y totalmente ilegal. Despuès de mi algo enèrgica opinión sobre lo de Charlie Hebdo, (tengo muy presente que arrastrar el pasado no es la mejor manera de enfrentar el presente, sin embargo, dejar salir impresiones y opiniones, me ha ayudado mucho a cerrar etapas y a olvidar personas) y de estar enfrascada en discusiones sobre el tema de Medio Oriente y el Estado Islámico, regreso a escribir sobre uno de los temas que màs disfruto que es el del Tíbet.  En esta ocasión escribiré unas cuentas ideas en torno a la invitación que hizo el Presidente de Estados Unidos, Barack Obama a Su Santidad Dalai Lama al desayuno hace unos días. I expressively forbade myself to write about anything related to the Middle East, mainly because of the quite bad experiences I had during the two years I worked in matters related to the region. Nevertheless I have so many things to say about this Charlie Hebdo issue that remaining silent is not an option anymore. I would like to invite all of my readers to not interpret anything that goes out of place, because since in this topic of Islamic extremism I have zero tolerance (for the same reason of my previous experiences), the least I want is to be called or be considered a racist. Primero que nada, al ser esta entrada la primera del 2015, quiero desear un muy feliz año a todos mis lectores. Agradezco de antemano su tiempo (y su paciencia) al leer mis opiniones y pensamientos, los cuales, de haber la posibilidad, buscan hacer alguna diferencia. I was quite doubtful about writing something about the current situation in Mexico but, due to the fact that we are now in the eye of the hurricane, and that the biggest nonsense I have read about my country regarding this issue has been coming from foreing opinions and pens, I decided to give my opinion, and some key elements that might help the world to understand why things are the way therey are.
